An analysis of the way the family used their home and outdoor space led to the most optimum location and layout for this organic shaped swimming pool and spa. The critical deciding factor is the pool’s proximity to the ‘flow’ of the family’s current outdoor entertainment use, and the exposure to maximum sunlight. The next stage of the design is to plan out the useable space surrounding the pool. Here one anticipates the following: dining, lounging, kids seating on seat walls, safe walking around pool perimeter, and a short distance to the spa for winter use. Sufficient greenery of landscape planting adds the natural tones to the space. One very practical element was a sound and visual barrier from the neighbours. This was accomplished by an attractive tall concrete fence.
