craig residence, pitt meadows, bc
The challenge with this site was to create landscape features and still maintain the natural setting. Careful attention was paid to the shape and locations of the existing rock cliffs so that the patios, decks, plantings, pools, and spa fit in an organic way. An advantage to this site was the breathtaking views of the distant woods, meadows and mountains. The orientation of the patios and pool areas captured this very well. To ultimately capture this vista the swimming pool was designed with a vanishing/infinity spill edge. This safe but exciting feature leaves every visitor awestruck. An important aspect to the design was to lessen the height of the home on the site -magnificent cedar post and beam arbours were the design solution to this problem.
