This breathtaking site required a landscape designed project to enhance it while not taking away from its natural beauty. Careful attention was paid to creating pleasing shaped areas of pool, patio, planting, and grass in a scale
that matches the site. Each area flows well into the next allowing the user an enjoyable outdoor living experience. Natural rock was reused from the pool excavation to echo the raw materials thus establishing an authentic landscape site. Innovative products were used to install the following features: a high quality putting green, efficient drainage, firetable, outdoor kitchen, spectacular outdoor lighting, and an auto pool cleaning system. The clients captured the end result well: “Our yard is now a resort-like setting that we enjoy year-round.”

A dream home was expertly constructed by Wescraft Builder on a dream property in High Point Estates, Langley. This exquisite home and interior needed a garden setting to allow a seamless connection between indoor and
outdoor living. Van De Poll Garden Design was brought in right from the start to assist in siting the house on the property -bearing in mind the sun exposure, views, and privacy. The design goals for the landscape was to include an inviting entry to the property, a sense of arrival at the front, a multi-purpose entertainment patio area, and a blending into the natural surroundings.

The challenge with this project was to design and implement a landscape that naturally married the house and the site. We believe we achieved that when the most common remark from visitors is: “Has this landscaping
always been here?”. This house and site is reminiscent of a Frank Lloyd Wright project, especially where the concrete bridge floats over a new water fall. The clients wanted the most natural materials used on the site. This was not about “bells and whistles”. This was about creating a natural and enjoyable oasis for functional family use.

This backyard extends from the indoor living space to the outdoors in a most natural way. An old deck that needed alot of annual care was replaced by a care-free composite decking material called Trex. This type of
deck allows the summer user to be barefoot without concern for slivers. The deck has room for a BBQ and an easily assessable hot tub. Step down to a beautiful taupe paver patio surrounded by a seat wall under fragrant vines growing on an arbour trellis. With full, colorful plantings nearby the whole outdoor living space feels private, inviting and lush.
