A natural intimacy is found within this new small backyard. The correct design decision was made to remove all the lawn in order to provide more seating and planting areas. The key to this design layout was to disguise the small square shape of this fenced yard by creating a landscape that has no straight lines. Curving stone walls successfully create the necessary elevation interest. Meandering stone pathways and patio are focused on a centrally sited water feature of a stone gurgler. The shape and placement of the overhead curved cedar arbour further anchors this landscape in natural lines. The overall design is completed with the finest selection of small trees and plants.
